MY SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER FAVORITES !!

A Big Hug & A Bigger Sorry :( I know it's sad to be MIA for a zillion years..my life has kept me super super busy, pheww and what's more sad is that I wasn't allowed to type as I'm recovering from surgery on both my wrists..so, it was for a very sad reason I had to be away from my blog, but here I am for all my lovely readers with another Monthly favorites post and this time it's lil different as I'm going to make it my September as well as my October Favorites !!

First thing that landed up in my September Favorites is a pair of Zara flats. I call these my Spike Puppies because this pair of flat shoes is so edgy & fierce and such a perfect way to break away from your regular plain jane shoes routine, so without any doubts this is my favorite buy of the month as well.

Price : 2,390 INR

Next product that landed up in my favorites is a cheek & lip product and it is MAC Weekend Getaway Casual Lip & Cheek Color. I love this product especially because it is the perfect pink color for my cheeks, even though it is described as a "cool rose", I find it more of a pink than a rose color. I'm a fan of dewy finish makeup especially because I have dry skin and it gives me just the perfect dewy finish on my cheeks, cherry on the cake, it stays on for hours. I totally recommend it, go grab one if you can because these things were sold out when I tried to get my hands on one more just to have a back up !!

MAC Casual Lip & Cheek Colour in Weekend Getaway

Price : 1,350 INR

My everyday Foundation has always been MAC's Mineralize Satin Finish Foundation in NC 25 and it still is my Favorite but last month I came across yet another fab foundation and to my surprise it is a compact foundation with a cream based texture. I have never been a fan of cream based foundations but this time it landed up in my Favorites List..who knew !! MAC's Mineralize Foundation SPF 15 is a Light weight foundation that offers light to medium coverage and leaves my skin  with a , but if you are looking for a foundation to hide scars or raised imperfection on your skin then this foundation is definitely not for you. This foundation is water based so works very well with dry skin that I have and gives me  SPF 15 sun protection. so I love love love this product, you must try it next time you are at a MAC Store.

MAC Mineralize Foundation SPF 15

Dior Vernis in RIVIERA is my favorite new Coral Red. It straddles the line between orange, coral, pink and red. I knowit's crazy, but it does look different under different lighting. Dior's formula has always been amazing and hands down, Riviera's formula is flawless. It's brush applicator is flat and wide which makes the application super easy and the creamy texture of Riviera glides on smooth on my nails. It's one of my Favorite Corals apart from Dior's Aloha !!

Price : 1,600 INR

after that I couldn't try many products because of my wrist surgery..ahhhh :(  but now that I'm back I will be trying out new products and rekindle some love my some old ones sitting on my shelves..waiting to be used.

MAC & BETH DITTO NAIL LACQUER : LIFE & BETH REVIEW

okay !! before I start with my review, I need to confess that I know how shameful it is that I started off so strong and then I have been MIA for so long.. now this is what happens when you don't have access to your laptop.. it seems like forever that my laptop has been struggling to live again...but for all you amazing readers who have loved my baby blog so much and encouraged me, I'm here just for you guys with another Review.

MAC & Beth Ditto teamed up to create a collection which has four Nail Lacquers out of which three are sorbet shades and the fourth one being a totally unexpected deep black: Life and Beth (peach), Near Beth Experience (light yellow), Nocturnelle (black), and Vagabondage (mid-tone lavender).
I picked up just one and that is ta daaa LIFE & BETH..what a dramatic name for such a soft color though !!

MAC's Life & Beth Nail Lacquer

Life & Beth is a soft sorbet shade in milky peach with a cream finish. Now, this is one tough nail paint to work with. It is very very extremely thick & streaky and if you apply the second coat before the first one has completely dried up and I mean it when I say completely, it will all be a mess, but if you put in some patience, it will give you this beautiful opaque peachy color which is perfect for both summer and the fall..I got it rite after I did the third coat, so I would suggest that you put three light coats, that's one thing that it takes ages to try having such a thick consistency, but remember the mantra to get the perfect peach is PATIENCE...!!

Have you tried or bought any of the Nail Lacquers from MAC's Beth Ditto Collection yet, share your love or hate for it in the comment box below.

much love !!

Product Review: MAC's Fix Plus (Fix +)

Hello all my lovey readers,

Today's star of the show is my love at first use product and it is MAC's Fix Plus (Fix +) .

MAC's Fix Plus (Fix +)
This product review comes from my tried and tested over an year of happy experience, so I decided it's time that I share it with all of you.

What MAC claims Fix + to be: An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!

So it's more than just water !!

Fix + -

Skin Refresher: I have dry and over the top sensitive skin so I am very careful with the products I use, especially on my face. After washing my face, I spray Fix + all over my face and after my skin absorbs it, I follow the next step, that is to apply my every day moisturizer.

Setting Spray / Finishing Mist: I have all the good things to say about Fix + when it comes to Setting your make up.
# It is amazing to give you that glowing dewy look by just a spray on your face after you have applied your foundation.
# It truly fixes your over the top caked up foundation and saves you the trouble of trying to buff in the extra foundation into your skin, trust me that technique doesn't work because after a while, your face turns out looking all powdered up or way too matt.

How to Use it:

Hold the bottle 6"-12" away from your face and spray evenly. Don't take it too close to your face as your face may start to look greasy instead of achieving the dewy finish. Hold the product at a right distance to get the perfect effect, it's all about how you spray it.

I sometimes spray Fix + directly onto my MAC 187 dual fiber brush and touch up the areas of my face which looks caked up, it's a lil trick I use and it really works !!

What I Love About Fix +

1. It is so hydrating and lightweight and absorbs quickly.
2. It smells amazing, truly refreshing.
3. It sets your make up perfectly leaving your skin look dewy and glowing.
4. Spray nozzle has a lock feature which makes it easy for travel.

5. Glycerin in it makes it a good Mixing Medium, may be not the best one because it is not meant to perform as one, but it is a quick fix if you run out of your mixing medium. It even comes in handy if you're using pigments. You can spray it on your brush before dipping it brush into your shadow. It'll make you eyeshadow color pop even more, making it look vibrant!
6. It's a 100 ml bottle and omg, it lasts forever. I use it every single day, as a refreshing spray, to set my make up, touch ups and what not and it easily lasts me for months. The current one I'm using has been sitting on my make up table for about six months now and I still have half a bottle left, so you can tell that this product is worth the money you pay.

There is absolutely nothing what I don't love about Fix +. I definitely plan on repurchasing this product and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Price: 870 INR
Quantity: 100 ML

DISCLAIMER: I am in no way endorsing this product because of any link with MAC cosmetics. It is purchased by me and I have not been paid to review this product, This review comes from my love for Fix + as it is an amazing product and I think everyone should give it a try.

MY JULY FAVORITES

Hey all my lovely readers.

As the month of July is over, it is time to show some love for the products that landed up in my monthly favorites post. I would love to know if any products made to your favorites too, leave a comment below...!!

Let me start with my Skin Care Product and it is my new moisturizer. I'm currently obsessed with my Estee Lauder DayWear Plus Multi Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme SPF 15

Source: esteelauder.com

This is a great everyday moisturizer. My skin is sensitive and dry in the summers, but this moisturizer keeps my skin hydrated and provides me with SPF to keep my skin feeling soft and safe all day long.  Estee Lauder DayWear has a fresh scent to it which goes a long way and I love it, but if you are the kind of person who likes their skin care products to be fragrance free, then this product is surely not for you. This moisturizer is a lil pricey but I have had mine for over two months now and I still have a lot left which might last me for another week, so it is great value for money..I am too picky about what I put on my skin and I'm going to purchase it again for sure !!
Price: 3,500 INR

Second product I loved and used all month long is Dior's Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum.

I didn't purchase it though. It was given to me by the SA when I got my Dior lipsticks. It came in a small gift box along with an adorable 5 colour smoky eye palette. Unfortunately I wasn't born with long lush babmi like eyelashes, so I'm always on the look out for products that can give my lashes the fuller effect. This product is just like a regular mascara and the application technique is the same, just that you have to put it before applying your mascara, more like a primer. It dries out leaving your lashes looking lil white, but don't get worried because that's the serum showing. After you apply your mascara, one coat of Diorshow Maximizer is enough to see instant result. I love the way my lashes turned out.
Price: It came in a gift box when I made a purchase at the Dior Counter, so I'm not sure about the price.

BeBe: Petra Studded Flat Sandal
I'm in love with these BeBe flats. Love the stud detailing on the straps. I bought mine at the BeBe store in Phoenix Mall, Bangalore. Shout out to the amazing staff they have and they are super helpful. I had mine ordered and they were sweet enough to keep it aside for me, considering I was two weeks late to collect my order. It's a a lovely Hibiscus colour as BeBe describes it. They have two more colours in this style, one in gold that is still available in store and a silver one I saw online, but I love bright colours for spring and summer.
Price: 3,900 INR

I got this Floral Print Tunic from ZARA and I love it.

Source: www.zara.com
I love the pop of colours and somehow it reminds me of blooming flowers, perfect for summers.
Price: 2,790 INR

In Accessories, I am in love with my Stone Necklace with Neon Touches from Zara.

It's all about being bright in the summers or to add the perfect pop of colour to your neutral outfit and what better way to add a necklace as the key piece of your outfit.
Price: 1,190 INR

Here I come to an end of my most favorite products from the month of July. Let's dig in to find more amazing things this month. Happy August everyone !!

DIOR ADDICT LIPSTICK 745 NEW LOOK REVIEW

All rite, here I am with another review....It's a bedazzling tube of Luxury with a pop of colour which screams Red Alert. I recently purchased the Dior Addict Lipstick in NEW LOOK 745 and let me tell you that this is the new love of my life and if I have to pick out one best buy I made for the entire month, then it would have to be the Dior New Look...!!

Dior Addict New Look 745

Let me be honest, when I tried it at the Dior counter, I wasn't really sure if I would ever wear any glossy lipstick in red, but the SA managed to convince me and I am so glad that I brought this baby home with me. Enough about my love for this lipstick, now let's talk about the star of the show: Dior Addict in NEW LOOK.

swatch

New Look is a beautiful red or what I would call a 'true red' with shimmer in it which is very fine and makes the colour pop with brilliance and gives it a well desired dewy feel. I love the fact that it goes on smooth even when swiped on the lips straight from the tube unlike many other red lipsticks and therefore it is very easy to apply.
Another thing I love about any lip product is when I can build on the colour with coats, that gives me the pleasure to play with the colour and this lipstick does just that. It goes from everyday wearable red to bright rich red. It's very moisturizing and hydrating, so it feels nice and comfortable on the lips and the glossy finish of the lipstick is not at all tacky but beautiful. This colour takes me back to the 70's and I am in love all over again...!!
It is one of those products that I will surely repurchase.

Spring Summer Make Up Trends 2012

Make up Artists seemed quite inspired by the Vintage Feel in every look they created, in a modern way...it's simple, pair old with new to create a look that stands out, it's all about mixing Vintage with Modern...so bring out the creative artist in you and get inspired...!!

ITS A DASH OF RED EVERYWHERE

Be it bright red, glossy red, red velvet or metallic crimson, it was the colour RED on the lovely lips flashing bright on the runway. So what are you waiting for..be bold...be bright....!!

My favorite Reds:
                                                              Dior Addict New Look 745

                                                            Chanel Rouge Coco Gabrielle

                                                          MAC Lipstick Lady Danger (matt)

CAT EYES LOOK MODERN NOW

Dolce & Gabbana
Why be so graphic when it comes to putting our eyeliner, let's make it more dramatic, more cinematic.. skipping the old routine of tapered edges...that would have been the thought of the makeup artists when they created the looks for the runways this season.

Marios Schwab

This is all about drama, all about making a statement, all about your eyes, but make sure to keep rest of your face neutral when you go for this look.

My Favorite Eye Liner for this Look:

MAC Fluidline Eye Liner in Blacktrack

SMOKY EYE OR IS IT A BLACK OUT

EXTREME will be the perfect word to describe this smoky eye look. Yes, this is the season that calls for drama as I said before....an Extreme Smoky Eye with a pinch of attitude would be enough to rock this glam look.

My Favorite Smoky Eye Palette:
Dior 3 Couleurs Ready-to-wear smoky eye palette in SMOKY BLACK

BROW STORY

Call it natural beauty or an impact the 60's era icon Liz Taylor left on the minds of the makeup artists but full brows dominated the runway this season. Darkened using pigments, brushed up or a dramatic arch, be bold or shall I say be natural to live the trend this SS 2012.

WHITE SILVER METALLICS

CHANEL

Sparkle with Silver eyes, be it on your lids or a dramatic streak of silver on the crease of the eye, let your eyes shine and mesmerize, just like the beauties did on the runway.

My Favorite Eye Shadow in Silver:
Dior Couleurs Extreme Eeshadow in Argentic

SUN-SPLASHED SPORTY CHEEKS

Tommy Hilfiger
Carefree glow- Athleticism inspired the makeup artists, for what was seen on the runway...this season contour your face with a peachy bronze to give your cheeks the fabulous flushed look.

My Favorite Bronzer:
Laura Mercier Bronzing Duo

DOLL LASHES

Louis Vuitton
Victor & Rolf
Curled up or Feathered...Coloured or Plain Black...blinking bambi-like eyelashes did the talking on the runway. It's a great look to achieve in no time and you are all dolled up.

My Favorite Tools to get Doll Lashes:

Chanel Eyelash Curler

Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara

This wraps up another Spring Summer 2012 Trend Tips....So, ready to be the next Trendsetter this season....!!
